Listing is for:
1x Steering rack Relocation kit
*Steering Shaft Extension (part number SSE) is sold separately*
On drift cars with a rear mounted steering rack, like the Z33, it is important to position the steering rack forward when you drastically increase your steering angle.
This will help you acheieve more useable steering angle with smoother steering feel and less binding/overcentering.
Set includes Weld on base plate, solid aluminum rack bushings, hardware, and high surface area low profile tubular rack mounts.
Rack mounts are strong due to precise fitment to rack.
T-bolt clamps secure the mounts while giving good engine clearance.
This weld-in kit will Move your steering rack forward 36mm.
This will allow you to delete the inner tie rod offset spacers commonly provided with angle kits.
Offset spacers are an easy solution for preventing overcentering.
But they are a weak link in the steering system and add stress to the steering rack. Relocating the entire rack is the better solution.
Removing the rack offset spacers requires an additional 35mm of tie rod length (uncut S14 extended inner tie rods recommeded if using MAX Super Angle Kit. Requires steering input spline extension on the column intermediate shaft or custom steering column.
Cars with speed sensitive steering solenoid will require our solenoid delete sold separately.
Contact us if you are a shop that intends to do this regularly since it will speed your process to buy a crossmember cut marking jig from us.
*Professional welding and install recommended.
If center plate is welded in crooked, rack will be crooked.
If welder overheats the plate during install, the plate can warp.
Recommended to weld in small increments, not from end to end.
If you cut some of the extra threads off the T-colt clamp it could make your life easier when you fasten them after the rack is already in the car.
