Our 3” exhaust system for the Hilux replaces the entire factory exhaust system, including the dump pipe off the turbo. It gives some good gains, particularly bringing the turbo boost in much earlier, adding responsiveness down low in the rev range.

The system is available with a large straight-through muffler, which keeps the exhaust noise level close to the factory levels, with no annoying drone inside the cab. We’ve also got other options to give you more noise, including hotdog and pipe-only options for a much louder note.

The mandrel bends and straight through mufflers on our Hilux exhaust system ensure the highest possible flow, and along with that comes maximum performance and fuel economy.

For even more power, the STING ECU Remap for the Hilux is an advanced recalibration of the factory computer, which regulates over 35 different parameters with split-second accuracy, giving up to 30% more torque when combined with the 3″ Manta exhaust. DPF Back or Turbo Back?
The latest model Hilux comes from the factory with a Diesel Particulate Filter. These are an emissions device designed to control the amount of soot emitted from the exhaust system. We have two options in our exhaust range – DPF back (similar to a “cat back” system on a petrol vehicle), or turbo back (replacing the entire factory exhaust system, including the DPF).

The naturally aspirated diesel Hilux models, powered by the ever-reliable 5L motor, have developed a reputation as a vehicle that will never die, yet is lacking somewhat in the power department.

Some owners choose to turbo their vehicles, but there is always a risk this will be detrimental to the life of the engine if not done correctly.

Luckily, Manta has developed a full exhaust system, with a high-flow muffler for the Hilux. The mandrel bent 2.5″ pipe in the Manta system offers much better flow over against the standard system, allowing the engine to breathe a lot better. This results in much freer revving, lower operating temperatures, improved power and torque, and best of all – reduced fuel consumption. The nice exhaust note coming from the glass packed muffler is another bonus – although we were careful to ensure there is no in-cab drone.

Mounting to all the existing factory exhaust mounts, and coming in aluminised steel with a 2 year warranty, the full Manta exhaust kit will add value to your Hilux, while enhancing driveability and reducing fuel consumption.

Product Description

The 4.0L 150 Series petrol Hilux is hampered by a restrictive factory exhaust system, keeping the output of the motor to only 175kw. The Manta exhaust system for this vehicle is a “cat-back” type, bolting to the standard catalytic converters.

A full system including extractors, is not possible due to the highly sensitive emission control system of this vehicle.

The cat-back Manta exhaust replaces the last two parts of the standard exhaust system with a 2.5″ mandrel bent performance version. It includes a high-flow centre muffler, and rear hotdog to ensure the system has a deep beefy note, without any drone inside the cabin.

The system is available in aluminised steel, with a 2 year warranty. We give you the option of a chrome tip, for the perfect finishing touch, or you can stick with a tip that looks very similar to the factory version.

The high flow mufflers and mandrel bends in the Manta exhaust ensure the highest possible flow rates when compared to the standard exhaust system, allowing the engine to breathe better. This means it revs freer, develops greater peak power, has more low down torque, and most importantly – consumes less fuel.

The Manta system uses all the same mounts as the factory system, making it super simple to install, and cementing its position as the simplest performance upgrade available for the V6 Hilux.
