The BA and BF Falcon introduced a completely new V8 power plant, displacing 5.4L, and based on the US modular V8 engine series. The BOSS version of this motor, found in the XR8 and FPV models produced 260kw, the highest output for a Ford vehicle up to that time, however this is a figure that can be improved by fitting a Manta Performance exhaust system, as the stock exhaust system is largely quite restrictive. The Manta exhaust helps unleash greater peak power and torque, while also improving low-down responsiveness. It also brings out a deep, rumbling V8 note, enhancing your driving experience, making the car sound like it really should! There are a number of options, depending on your budget and requirements. The single 3″ system is an ideal replacement for your factory exhaust system, giving improved flow and better sound, while the 2.5″ dual system steps it up a notch with a deeper, throatier tone. For the ultimate in performance and sound, the 3″ dual system can’t be beaten, being the only true dual 3″ all the way through available for the V8 Falcon. For maximum longevity, our stainless steel systems are warranted for 10 years, and generally last the life of the vehicle, while our aluminised steel systems carry a 2 year warranty, and represent great value for money.

The BF range of FPV models had the BOSS 290kw V8 motor, and was unique in the way that the stock exhaust had quad exits out the driver and passenger sides. By fitting a quad exit Manta exhaust system, the unique “stereo” sound of the exhaust note can be achieved, sounding many times better than the factory exhaust system. The Manta Performance exhaust also uses high flow, straight through mufflers, and larger pipework to unleash extra power and torque right throughout the rev range. The cat back systems are ideal if you already have aftermarket headers and cats, or are just looking for improved sound, while the full systems with extractors deliver the best gains, have a throatier sound, and are essential if you are performing other engine modifications such as supercharging. For most applications, the 2.5″ dual system is sufficient, but for the ultimate in flow and sound we have our full dual 3″ system, the only proper dual 3″ system available off the shelf for the Falcon.

The dual exit design gives the Falcon a distinctive “stereo” sound, due to each bank of cylinders exiting out separate sides of the vehicle, rather than both coming out the same side as with the stock exhaust system.
The cat back systems are ideal if you already have aftermarket headers and cats, or are just looking for improved sound, while the full systems with extractors deliver the best gains, have a throatier sound, and are essential if you are performing other engine modifications such as supercharging. The BA and BF XR6 Turbo has tremendous potential, which can quickly be unleashed with the fitment of the Manta Performance Exhaust System. The full turbo back system replaces the entire standard exhaust system, freeing up the turbo and reducing lag, whilst improving top-end performance and reducing fuel consumption due to its higher flowing design that allows the engine to operate more efficiently. The exhaust note is much improved, allowing the whistle of the turbo to be heard. The two high-flow mufflers used ensure minimal in-cab drone, yet still maintain maximum flow and performance. The dump pipe-back system suits more moderate applications, replacing the restrictive catalytic converter with a high flow version, whilst keeping the factory dump pipe. The cat-back system is also available, which bolts on behind the standard dump pipe and catalytic converter. The cat-back still gives a moderate increase in performance, while improving the sound of the vehicle, allowing that 6-turbo exhaust note to really be heard. For extreme applications, the dual 3″ system offers the highest flow possible, and is the only true dual 3″ exhaust system on the market for the XR6 turbo. All 2.5″ systems are available in either stainless steel and aluminised steel, with the stainless exhaust systems carrying a 10 year warranty against manufacturing defects. In reality, a stainless system should last the life of the vehicle.
